Iberdrola España has installed an electric vehicle charging infrastructure on Avenida Estación Nueva in Calamocha, Teruel, a strategic location next to the Mudéjar motorway, as part of its ongoing commitment to promoting sustainable mobility.

The infrastructure is equipped with a 100-kilowatt (kW) super-fast charging point and can accommodate two vehicles. It was made possible by an agreement between Iberdrola España, which has been responsible for providing the equipment, its installation and management, and the company Estación de Servicio Calamocha, which has provided the land for the car park where the charger is located.

Users of these facilities charge their electric cars’ batteries with 100% green energy from renewable sources, with certified guarantee of origin. This charging point also incorporates the new feature of the possibility of paying by credit/debit card, as it is equipped with a payment terminal (POS).

The Calamocha charging point is on the Iberdrola public charging app, which lists more than 240 chargers available in Aragón, so users can geolocate them, check their availability in real time, and reserve and pay from their phones.

Pioneers in sustainable mobility in Spain

Iberdrola España, in its commitment to promoting and facilitating access to electric cars, now has 10,000 operational charging points in Spain, a charging network that can already serve 1,000,000 electric vehicles. The company, firmly convinced of the energy transition and that emissions-free and more efficient mobility is possible, commissioned its first charging point in 2016. Today, 10 years later, it is the leader in charging in all power segments.

Iberdrola España's public charging network facilitates travel throughout the country and on all types of routes, adapting to user needs, allowing everything from charging 80% of the battery in less than 15 minutes to slower charges for longer stops, such as when shopping, enjoying a recreational centre, shopping centre or at work.

The company currently has more than 2,700 high-power points in operation, 1,300 of which are ultra-fast, operated by Iberdrola | bp pulse, a partnership created in December 2023 by Iberdrola España and bp, the leading ultra-fast charging company at service stations in Spain, to accelerate the expansion of ultra-fast charging infrastructure.
