Fundación EPYME’s headquarters hosted the launch today of a new training programme by Iberdrola España, UNICEF España and Fundación Secretariado Gitano as part of Generation Unlimited España, an initiative that aims to nurture talent, promote training and education, develop a broad range of skills and improve employment prospects for young people in vulnerable social situations through a multi-stakeholder partnership.

The partnership brings together social organisations such as Fundación Secretariado Gitano, companies such as Iberdrola and collaborating entities such as Fundación EPYME. It is aimed at young people aged 16 to 29 who are in vulnerable social situations.

The training programme comprises 452 hours of training in electrical installations, occupational risk prevention, photovoltaic self-consumption, working at height, electric vehicle charging points and workplace skills, as well as work experience placements with companies in the sector. The course is designed to prepare participants for the employment opportunities created by the growing electrification of the economy.

The presentation was attended by Manuel de Elías, secretary-general and managing director of EPYME; Pedro Pablo López, president of Fundación EPYME; Juan M. Reyes Campos, regional director of Fundación Secretariado Gitano in Andalusia; and Antonio Fernández González, Iberdrola España’s delegate in Andalusia.

The event also included a tour of EPYME’s training facilities, where participants were able to familiarise themselves with the spaces and technical resources that will be available to them throughout the programme.
