Iberdrola España supports the Convi-Bol project, SUPERA Social Award, at its first forum in León

Iberdrola Ambassador Marta Fernández, together with Paralympic athletes María Martín and Sara Aller, has participated in this initiative promoted by CEIP Lope de Vega and the Convi-Bol Group to promote equality, inclusion and coexistence through sport.

Iberdrola Ambassador Marta Fernández took part in the I Convi-Bol Forum Ciudad de León, an initiative promoted by the Convi-Bol Group and CEIP Lope de Vega in Armunia, the centre awarded the Iberdrola SUPERA Social Award, which emphasises sport as a tool for inclusion, equality and coexistence, alongside other Paralympic athletes such as María Martín (skiing) and Sara Aller (boccia).

The event, which brought together institutional representatives, teachers and professionals from the educational and sports sectors to reflect on the role of sport in transmitting values and generating opportunities, especially among women and young people, was a resounding success, combining excitement and closeness with highly inspiring moments in a dynamic and participatory format.

This initiative is also part of the celebration of the II Convi-Bol Ciudad de León, an educational event that gathered more than 500 students and 70 teachers from different educational centres with the aim of promoting inclusion, equality and coexistence through sport, consolidating the growth and reach of this project within the educational community.

The Convi-Bol project, recognised in the Iberdrola SUPERA Awards, is based on the practice of Colpbol, a cooperative and inclusive discipline that encourages the equitable participation of all students and removes dominant roles. This methodology has established itself as an effective tool to improve school coexistence, promote gender equality and foster social and cultural integration from an early age, particularly in diverse educational contexts.

“Projects such as Convi-Bol demonstrate the enormous power of sport to educate in values, promote equality and generate real opportunities from an early age,” emphasised Marta Fernández.

The event was attended by the delegate of Iberdrola España in Castilla and León, Miguel Calvo, and Iberdrola’s Paralympic Sponsorship Manager, Susana Murias, together with the initiators of this educational project: María José Núñez Morán, director of CEIP Lope de Vega, and Elías Rubio Martínez, teacher and coordinator of the Convi-Bol project, whose work has been key to making this proposal a benchmark in educational innovation. “Learning to coexist is also trained, and the playground is one of the best places to do it. Let us build a better future through education,” highlighted Rubio.

Likewise, the Iberdrola delegate stressed that “we are proud to support initiatives that promote sport as a driver of inclusion and coexistence in the educational field.”
