Photovoltaic energy at Huelva, Andalusia

Iberdrola España advances its commitment to renewable self-consumption in Andalusia with the launch of 10 new solar communities in the province of Huelva. Spread across the region, these installations are located in the municipalities of Paterna del Campo, Puebla de Guzmán, Trigueros, Lepe, Aracena, San Juan del Puerto, Gibraleón, Aljaraque, Rociana and Huelva city.

With a combined capacity of 850 kWp and more than 1,800 solar panels installed, these communities will generate 1,270 MWh of clean energy annually, which will prevent the emission of over 250 tonnes of CO₂ into the atmosphere. Thanks to these installations, more than 1,600 families will be able to reduce their electricity bills by accessing collective self-consumption without having to make any investment or own a roof.

Nearby and sustainable energy made simple

Iberdrola España's solar communities allow any user located near the installation to join renewable self-consumption, without the need for construction work or initial expenses. The company takes care of the entire process: installation, maintenance, management and finding optimal locations.

This model enables the democratisation of access to solar energy, including in rural areas or multi-storey housing, and is part of Iberdrola's strategy to accelerate the energy transition through sustainable, accessible and local solutions.

A benchmark in Andalusia

In Andalusia alone, Iberdrola España already has more than 120 active solar communities, making the region one of the key areas for the deployment of the collective self-consumption model. These installations are part of the company’s objective to achieve a sustainable electrification of the territory.
