Iberdrola España and Fundación ASPRIMA sign an alliance to promote home electrification

Iberdrola España and Fundación ASPRIMA, an organisation linked to the Association of Property Developers of Madrid (ASPRIMA), have signed an alliance to promote electrification and energy efficiency in new housing developments. The two organisations will work together in a shared knowledge platform showcasing real-life success stories with the aim of improving the efficiency of residential projects through a range of innovative solutions.

Since 2022, Iberdrola España has been working with different property developers to jointly integrate solutions such as photovoltaic self-consumption, aerothermal energy, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, as well as energy supply and value-added services services.

This model enables property developers to anticipate the requirements of the Spanish Building Code (CTE), incorporating efficient electrification solutions from the design stage, while also facilitating the achievement of high energy ratings (A), access to green financing (green mortgages) and local tax incentives (IBI or ICIO, depending on the municipality).

The agreement, signed by ASPRIMA Director General Jorge Ginés and Luis Buil, Head of Smart Solutions at Iberdrola España, marks a new phase of joint work between the energy sector and the Madrid-based property developer, focusing on sharing success stories and practical solutions aimed at the continuous improvement of standards in the Spanish residential market. It also lays the foundations for further electrification and the development of solutions applicable to the homes of the future.

“The property sector cannot look the other way when it comes to electrification, which not only promotes sustainability and decarbonisation, but also improves the energy efficiency of our projects. Having Iberdrola as a partner gives us access to knowledge that is essential for our members to lead this transformation from the project stage,” said ASPRIMA Director General Jorge Ginés.
