ATuAire, a joint venture between Iberdrola España and CEC Energía y Edificación, is driving forward electrification and energy efficiency in owners' associations in the Asturias region
- 100% renewable heat pump technology, solar self-consumption and a 100% renewable electricity supply will improve the energy efficiency of the properties.

ATuAire, an Iberdrola España subsidiary specialising in comprehensive solutions for the decarbonisation of heating in the commercial, industrial and residential sectors, is supporting CEC Energía y Edificación, a company belonging to the Construcciones Emilio Cueto group, in the development of its ambitious asset decarbonisation plan, aimed at reducing the company's carbon footprint, increasing the energy efficiency of its facilities and moving towards a more sustainable and competitive energy model.
This strategic alliance combines the technological capabilities, experience and expertise of ATuAire — an Iberdrola España company specialising in the electrification of energy demand — with the track record of CEC Energía y Edificación, a company backed by more than 40 years' experience in the construction sector, energy-efficient refurbishment and the installation of energy generation and utilisation systems for owners' associations.
The agreement has been established with the aim of promoting projects that reduce energy consumption and CO₂ emissions in buildings and facilities through the implementation of innovative, high-efficiency solutions. To this end, both companies will collaborate on the analysis, design, implementation and optimisation of projects based on technologies such as aerothermal energy, efficient air conditioning, advanced energy control systems, photovoltaic self-consumption and other solutions linked to the electrification of energy demand.
The collaboration also responds to a context characterised by the growing need to improve the energy efficiency of buildings and accelerate the transition towards decarbonised energy models.
The replacement of traditional heating systems with renewable electric technologies has become one of the main drivers for reducing the environmental impact of the building stock and decreasing dependence on fossil fuels.

Furthermore, the partnership will help meet the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions from homeowners' associations, businesses, industries and private individuals seeking to reduce their energy costs, increase the value of their assets and meet the sustainability targets set by current regulations and European climate commitments.
What’s more, the current framework of grants and tax relief makes this type of project a particularly attractive opportunity for owners' associations. The possibility of combining grants for renovation and energy efficiency improvements with property tax relief offered by certain local councils makes it possible to substantially reduce the investment required to install air-source heat pumps and photovoltaic self-consumption systems. Added to this are the energy savings generated year after year, which can mean that in certain projects the net investment for the owners' association is practically zero. This combination of grants, tax relief and energy savings enables owners' associations to modernise their facilities and improve comfort for their residents without this necessarily entailing a significant increase in their costs.
