Sponsored by Iberdrola España, 14th March Against Cancer brought together more than 50,000 people in Valladolid

Iberdrola España and the Spanish Cancer Association (AECC) have joined forces once again this year in the largest race in Spain. On Sunday, the gardens of El Campo Grande were transformed into a sea of hope tinged with green, the starting point for a day that once again brought out Valladolid’s most supportive and committed.
The 14th Valladolid March Against Cancer, which had Iberdrola España’s special support as its main sponsor for the 10th consecutive year, flooded the city's downtown streets with green, reaching 53,122 participants and exceeding everyone’s expectations.
The funds raised by this partnership, which is part of the agreement between the two organisations to work both on research to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment and on raising awareness about the fight against the disease, will go to the AECC LAB Aid for lung cancer treatment led by Dr José Manuel Muñoz Félix at the Institute of Biomedical Research in Salamanca.
The president of the Spanish Cancer Association in Valladolid, Artemio Domínguez, the mayor of the city, Jesús Julio Carnero, the president of the Valladolid Provincial Council, Conrado Íscar, and the sales director of Iberdrola España in Castile and León, Celiano García, among others, once again supported this initiative.
On the occasion of this charity athletic event, Iberdrola España wanted to highlight one of the most innovative initiatives developed under the framework of this agreement, ‘the Together Against Cancer campaign, through which the company offers its customers the opportunity to support the association, committing to double the amount they donate monthly through their electricity or gas bill,’ said Celiano García, Sales Director of Iberdrola España in Castile and León.
Iberdrola España and the AECC have a long-standing relationship that was consolidated in 2015 with the signing of a partnership agreement focused on cancer research. The continued commitment of the company and its customers has turned Iberdrola España into the AECC’s main private partner.
