Iberdrola España joins Roig Arena to light up Valencia's main events
- The organisations signed an agreement with which the electricity company becomes a 'Founding Partner' of Juan Roig’s venue in Valencia, which will have a maximum capacity of 20,000 spectators
- In addition to supplying green energy to the Roig Arena, Iberdrola España will carry out other actions to electrify the venue, such as installing a photovoltaic self-consumption system and charging points for electric vehicles
Iberdrola España and Roig Arena have signed a long-term agreement that distinguishes the electricity company as a 'sustainability partner' and 'Founding Partner', the highest level of sponsorship of Juan Roig’s multi-purpose venue in Valencia, which will open its doors in September. As part of this partnership, Iberdrola España will supply all the electricity consumed by the Roig Arena, which will have a 100% renewable guarantee of origin.
In addition to supplying green energy to this venue with its maximum capacity of 20,000 spectators, Iberdrola España will carry out other actions linked to promoting its electrification, such as installing a 1 megawatt (MW) photovoltaic plant for self-consumption or providing some 40 parking spaces with charging points for electric vehicles. Additional energy efficiency actions will also be explored in the future.
The agreement also includes the implementation of joint corporate social responsibility (CSR) actions focused on reducing inequalities and promoting future opportunities for those who are most disadvantaged, as well as organising sustainable events. Both will be specified at a later date.
