Iberdrola | bp pulse, the joint venture established in 2023 by both companies, leader in ultra-fast public charging in Spain and Portugal, consolidated its commitment to electromobility in 2025 with sustained growth in its network of charging points, providing solutions that promote energy transition and transport decarbonisation in Spain and Portugal.

During 2025 the company more than doubled its high-power charging infrastructure, going from more than 950 charging points in 1 December 2024 to more than 2,100 at the end of 2025, representing an increase of 124% in one year.

These results reflect Iberdrola | bp pulse's strong momentum in the charging market: by the end of 2025 the company has grown at a rate significantly higher than the national average, consolidating its leadership and reinforcing its commitment to expanding the charging infrastructure in Spain.

In terms of environmental impact Iberdrola | bp pulse has supplied more than 24,000 megawatt hours of energy to electric vehicles in Spain and Portugal. This volume, which is entirely guaranteed to be 100% renewable, represents an exponential leap from the more than 6,500 megawatt-hours recorded in 2024, representing a 265.5% increase in the energy supplied.

To put this into perspective the volume of energy in 2025 would allow us to travel nearly 160 million kilometres: the equivalent of circling the Earth around the equator 4,000 times or making around 200 round trips to the Moon.

Thanks to this deployment, the company has avoided the emission of more than 28,000 tonnes of CO₂. To put this impact into perspective, it is equivalent to the absorption capacity of a 5,600-hectare forest, the size of almost 8,000 football pitches. In this way the company is making a tangible contribution to climate change mitigation and the decarbonisation of transport.

Main projects for 2025

In 2025 Iberdrola | bp pulse has developed projects that set trends in electric mobility and consolidate its leadership in charging infrastructure. In the centre of Madrid, in Nuevos Ministerios, the company has opened the capital's most powerful ultra-fast charging centre, capable of supplying up to 350 kilowatts in each of the 22 chargers installed, thus overcoming historical barriers to charging in densely populated urban environments.

One of the most innovative projects of 2025 has been the development of the Isla Azul Station, south of Madrid, which stands out for its pioneering approach to energy management. Despite starting with a limited electrical connection, Iberdrola | bp pulse has managed to maximise the charging service thanks to the implementation of advanced smart management and energy storage systems.

This solution has made it possible to offer high-power charging in a high-demand environment where the previous network infrastructure was insufficient, demonstrating that engineering and innovation can overcome structural limitations and guarantee access to state-of-the-art electric mobility.

Another notable milestone was the opening of the international charging station in Fuentes de Oñoro, the first project developed entirely by the company to serve heavy transport on the border with Portugal. This infrastructure, designed from scratch on its own land and completed in record time, guarantees the continuity of European corridors for electric trucks, combining total control over operation and maintenance with a direct impact on the decarbonisation of road transport.

In addition in Andalusia Iberdrola | bp pulse has inaugurated Spain's largest public charging megahub in the Nevada Shopping commercial park in Armilla (Granada). This station, equipped with 70 charging points of different powers and already in operation, reinforces the sustainable mobility network in the region and is positioned as a strategic hub for private users and long-distance travellers thanks to its connectivity with the main Andalusian motorways.
