Iberdrola España starts September with a new Renove plan to help its customers switch from a combustion boiler to aerothermal energy. The company aims to promote the electrification of heating and improve its efficiency, while contributing to the transition to a zero-emissions economy.

The Iberdrola España plan, effective from today, September 1st, until November 1st, integrates direct aid of up to 3,700 euros, combining its Renove discount with the Energy Saving Certificates (CAE). The CAE system converts the energy savings achieved through efficiency improvements, in this case by replacing a combustion boiler with aerothermal energy, into money, which Iberdrola España offers as a direct discount on the aerothermal contract.

Additionally, the company adds interest-free financing, an 800-euro bonus through the Mi Iberdrola program (redeemable on the electricity contract), and the necessary energy efficiency certificates for tax deductions, which can reach up to an additional 9,000 euros. With all these actions, the savings on installation with the company's plan can exceed 70% of the initial investment.

Aerothermal energy, compared to an oil boiler, is a renewable energy source, eliminating dependence on fossil fuels, thus preventing combustion and its associated emissions, while saving up to 70% on heating energy if underfloor heating is used, or up to 40% with radiators. These savings are reflected in the company's implemented actions.

For example, a 90-square-meter apartment in Burgos, previously equipped with a gas boiler, saves 460 euros annually after installing aerothermal energy with Iberdrola España. The required investment would have been 11,862 euros, but with the discounts from the Renove plan and the CAE purchased by the company, the amount is reduced by 3,700 euros to 8,162 euros, which can be paid in 24 months without interest, with a monthly payment of 340 euros. Additionally, through Mi Iberdrola, the customer receives 800 euros, redeemable on the electricity contract.

For single-family homes, in addition to the direct discounts provided by the energy company, there are various public aids available through tax deductions, which allow for up to 60% of the initial investment to be deducted, up to a maximum of 9,000 euros over three years, i.e., 3,000 euros per year. To facilitate access to these deductions, Iberdrola España offers its customers the necessary energy efficiency certificates both before and after the improvement action.

For instance, by switching from an oil boiler to aerothermal energy in a 170-square-meter semi-detached home in Madrid, savings reach 1,100 euros per year with an investment of 13,700 euros, but after the Iberdrola España aids, it drops to less than 10,000 euros, and after deductions, it is reduced to 4,000 euros. In a 240-square-meter detached home in Ávila, previously equipped with a gas boiler, the savings amount to approximately 1,190 euros per year, after investing just over 5,000 euros, which is 70% less than the initial cost of 16,300 euros before aids and deductions. In both cases, the 800-euro bonus from Iberdrola España would also apply.

Additionally, savings on the bill generated by aerothermal energy can be maximized when combined with self-consumption. Furthermore, the energy not used for aerothermal energy can be redirected to cover the home’s electrical consumption needs, resulting in greater savings.

Promoting the energy transition in Spain

40% of emissions in Europe come from heating homes with fossil fuels. Aerothermal systems are heat pumps that extract energy from the air through a thermodynamic cycle to provide heating in winter, cooling in summer, and hot water all year round. This is the most sustainable and cost-effective form of climate control, as it is up to four times more efficient than an oil boiler, the only solution in many parts of Spain where access to gas has historically been unavailable.

In its commitment to accelerating the energy transition and developing new products that enhance energy efficiency and savings, Iberdrola España offers tailor-made solutions with personalized products depending on the characteristics of each home to achieve the highest comfort, savings, and efficiency.

In addition to aerothermal energy, the company offers complementary solutions such as façade and roof insulation, a measure that can reduce domestic energy costs for heating and cooling by up to 30%. It also proposes the installation of solar panels so that customers can generate their own 100% renewable electricity, potentially saving up to 70% on their annual electricity bill.
