Eva Mancera, CEO of i-DE (Iberdrola España's distribution company), met with employees in Morella following the purchase of Electra del Maestrazgo's electricity business and visited the facilities of the family-owned company recently acquired by Iberdrola España, which operates in part of the provinces of Castellón and Teruel.

The CEO of i-DE, who was accompanied by Guillermo Raga, regional director of the company in the Eastern Region, and José Miguel Martínez, head of i-DE in the province of Castellón, spoke with the company's employees, who showed her the unique features of the distribution grid, as well as its operations and control centre.

Eva Mancera told workers that the company’s acquisition is part of Iberdrola's strategy of investing in electricity grids, which means that from now on they will be joining the company's efforts to transition to a decarbonised economy through electrification.

After visiting the facilities, Eva Mancera held a meeting at Morella Town Hall with municipal representatives as well as provincial deputies from Castellón, the Mancomunitat Els Ports and the province of Teruel. She explained the purchase operation carried out by Iberdrola España and the company's commitment to continue offering residents quality service and to meet the present and future needs of the area.

The electricity business acquired from Electra del Maestrazgo comprises 1,350 km of medium and low voltage lines, 21,000 supply points, 19,000 commercial customers and 6.8 megawatts of installed capacity with photovoltaic plants and hydroelectric generation. These assets will be integrated into Iberdrola España's business, strengthening its operations and presence in the region.

The transaction is in line with Iberdrola España's strategic plan, focusing on the sale of non-strategic assets and reinvestment in assets relevant to the company's current business and objectives.
