More than 8,000 at 17th Life to Live Race sponsored by Iberdrola España in Zamora

Iberdrola España and the Spanish Cancer Association (AECC) have joined forces once again this year. This Sunday, coinciding with International Breast Cancer Awareness Day, a huge green tide swept through the streets of central Zamora during the 17th Life to Live Race. More than 8,000 people took part in this charity event, which received special support from Iberdrola España as its main sponsor.
The funds raised by this partnership, which is part of the agreement between the two entities, will be used for research to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment as well as for social awareness campaigns to fight the disease.
Taking advantage of this charity sporting event, Iberdrola España wanted to highlight one of the most innovative initiatives developed under this agreement, the Together Against Cancer campaign. With it the company offers its customers the opportunity to collaborate with the association by committing to double the amount they donate monthly through their electricity or gas bill.

The ongoing engagement of the company and its customers have made Iberdrola España the AECC’s main private partner’, said Miguel Calvo, Iberdrola España's representative in Castile and León.

Iberdrola España wants to continue its momentum and contact with the province of Zamora and all the parties involved, and it is committed to retaining and attracting young talent. It is returning to its roots with the help of the future, talent and innovation. The facilities that have housed Iberdrola España's Hydraulics Laboratory for decades, a world leader in the field of engineering alongside the Ricobayo dam, have been transformed into a pioneering project: an innovation and training centre that will welcome 1,000 future professionals from all corners of Spain every year.
Iberdrola España will continue to make significant investments in this region to keep offering its nearly 130,000 customers in Zamora an ever-improving quality of service. It plans to invest €36M in electricity grids in the province over the next four years, with a further €40M earmarked for the expansion of wind farms, €4.7M for hydroelectric infrastructure over the last two years and a recurring tax contribution of more than €13M per year in provincial taxes.
The company has 17 facilities in the province of Zamora with an installed capacity of 976 MW, four wind farms and 13 hydroelectric power stations, providing clean and flexible energy that creates jobs and is committed to training professionals in a booming industries that offers young people jobs.
In addition, in partnership with the Rei Afonso Henriques Foundation, they educate young people from schools in Zamora about the risks of climate change.

Para ello, vuelve a sus orígenes de la mano del futuro, el talento y la innovación. Las instalaciones que han albergado durante décadas el Laboratorio de Hidráulica de Iberdrola España, una referencia mundial en el campo de la ingeniería junto a lapresa de Ricobayo, se han transformado en un proyecto pionero: un centro de innovación y formación por el que pasarán anualmente 1000 futuros profesionales de todos los rincones de España.
De cara al futuro, Iberdrola España va a seguir realizando un importante esfuerzo inversor en esta tierra, para continuar ofreciendo, a sus casi 130.000 clientes zamoranos una calidad de servicio cada vez mejor.
Para ello, tiene previsto invertir en la provincia 36 millones de euros en redes eléctricas durante los próximos cuatro años, otros 40 millones se destinarán a la ampliación de parques eólicos, 4,7 millones a infraestructuras hidroeléctricas durante los dos últimos años y una aportación fiscal recurrente de más de 13 millones de euros anuales de impuestos provinciales.
La empresa mantiene 17 instalaciones en la provincia zamorana con una potencia instalada de 976 MW, cuatro infraestructuras eólicas y 13 centrales hidroeléctricas, una energía limpia y flexible que crea empleo y apuesta por la formación de profesionales en un sector en auge que ofrece trabajo a los jóvenes.
Además, de la mano de la Fundación Rei Afonso Henriques forman a jóvenes de centros escolares zamoranos sobre los riesgos del cambio climático.
